Radio Guernsey

Radio Guernsey is the Local BBC Radio service for the Channel Island of Guernsey and was launched on 16th March 1982.

It has grown from a small part time radio operation in the early 1980s into a full tri-media broadcaster, providing locally produced radio, online and TV services. Each week the station broadcasts 74 hours of local programmes ranging from news and current affairs to music and conversation.

The majority of the station’s programming is produced and broadcast from St Sampson’s, Guernsey. During off-peak hours, it also carries regional programming for the South West and West regions, produced from sister stations BBC Radio Devon and BBC Radio Bristol. As with all BBC Local Radio stations, it also airs the networked weekday evening shows, originating from BBC Radio Leeds and produced independently by Wire Free Productions.

BBC Guernsey also simulcasts BBC Radio 5 Live overnight and on Sunday afternoons, predominantly to carry live Premier League football commentaries from 5 Live Sport.
