Radio Hallam started broadcasting on 1st October 1974 from studios at Hartshead in Sheffield City Centre. The first presenter was ex-BBC Radio 1 DJ Johnny Moran.
On 1st October 1985, Radio Hallam’s broadcast area was extended to include all of South Yorkshire and in 1987, it merged with neighbouring Yorkshire stations Pennine Radio in Bradford and Viking Radio in Hull to form the now-defunct Yorkshire Radio Network.

This package was a collaboration between Alfasound and JAM and re-sings could be heard on many commercial stations around the same time, including Glasgow’s Radio Clyde.
